The scene at Charles De Gaulle:
John flew to Paris to meet Max. The above is at passport control. One big mass of people trying to exit airport. Luckily John just had to wait for Max at their departure gate.
NOTE: John needs to clean lens on camera.
They texted me when they met up:
I walked over to the bus station to meet them and we went out for a drink and a bite to eat before heading to bed. So happy to see Max! It will be so much fun having him here for the week!

11/17/17 Concert at Chapelle des Oblats
Friday night! Went to dinner at Le Petite Bistro across the street, then walked the 20 meters to the Church for Corsican Folk Music Concert. Not an empty seat in the Church. Very emotional and wildly enthusiastic audience. Was a lot of fun!
Then home to await word that Max was safely aboard his flight to France!

11/16/17 Concert at Le Petit Duc
Went to a jazz piano concert tonight at Le Petit Ducky - small (100 seat) theatre at the university. Listened to Jonathan Soucasse play the piano - what an experience. It's impossible to describe. He is on YouTube if you care to check it out. AMAZING!

11/16/16 John Takes a Hike
Per JDL:
Just for fun, I hiked from Aix up to the Celtic archeological site of Entremont. (Oppidum is the Latin word for hilltop village-- so the walk of about 4 miles was uphill every step of the way.) Eerie to think of all that happened here. It overlooks the plain where Marius claimed 150,000 Gallic warriors killed, along with an equal number of women and children who committed suicide rather than be taken as slaves.
What's left of the rampart around the village from about 700 B.C.
The houses were actually timber, so only the foundations are left.
Mount St. Victoire, which is named for the Roman victory over the Celts.
That's Aix down in the Valley.

11/16/17 My Dream Job
IF I could get a French driver's license - not likely! I would love to drive the little bus around Aix - the Diaboline! It is a free service and seems to be used mostly by senior citizens. Navigating all the narrow streets would be a challenge. Wonder if it's heated?
11/15/17 Window shopping - Again!
Took a little walk about town today. I had to stop at the knitting store and just wandered around checking the window displays.
They just changed the display at the Hermes store:
